Helping Business Market Better With Questions

When I have a client asking me about Social Marketing- I usually annoy them by asking way too many questions. (Their response is "Can't you just do it for me?")

Most business owners have been taught and trained to market their products. I do not agree to that theory at face value.

We must create a relationship first! Start by answering these questions…
1. Type a list of all the things your customers would be interested in hearing from you OTHER THAN your products.
2. What are they asking your competitors?
3. What problems can you solve for them?
4. How can you position yourself as a partner?
5. Think about how those things can create value for your customer:
Does it save them time?
Money?
Give them status?
Make them smarter?

Now take your answers and create a conversation in the Internet social world. Use blogs, press releases, video, Web 2.0 properties. be consistent, be real, be helpful.

Your customers will find you!
